Passaris warns of conman using her name to rip off city residents

Nairobi Woman Rep Esther Passaris has warned Nairobians against a conman using her name to rip off people.

The conman has a opened fake Facebook account that bears Ms Passaris’ name and photos, where he dupes city residents of a program to give out free boda bodas to youths and women.

Unsuspecting Nairobians are urged to send their telephone numbers and identity details in order to benefit from the fictitious Inua Vijana na Boda Boda Project. Later, they are told to send Sh5, 870 to facilitate the transfer of the motorbike log book to their names.

Passaris warned Nairobians not to give their telephone numbers to the conman. She clarified that her office numbers are 0777 303101 and 0782 303101 as opposed to the 0718649564 being used by the conman.

But even a day after Ms Passaris had issued the warning, a spot check on the fake Facebook account showed that some Nairobians are still posting their numbers on the comment section of a post that claims to be offering bursaries.

The fake account uses the same photos on Passaris’ official page and even screenshots every single update on what the MP has been up to.
