Pastor Dorcas Rigathi warns drug dealers – ‘Your days are numbered’
In a powerful message directed at drug barons and dealers, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, the spouse of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has declared that the days of those involved in selling illicit substances are numbered.
Speaking passionately at the SOT Technical Institute in Bomet, Dorcas pointed out the urgent need to halt the detrimental impact of drug peddlers on children’s lives.
She sternly warned those profiting from selling dangerous substances, equating them to murderers, and urged the community to unite against these suppliers of poison.
“Those who sell poison to you are trying to make money. I fervently hope that you make them poor. Consider this your warning. Anyone engaged in selling these poisons is akin to a murderer,” She expressed her disdain for those profiting from selling dangerous substances.
Pastor Dorcas has been on a tour of Bomet County and is actively involved in initiatives to combat substance abuse.
Notably, she inaugurated the Bomet Treatments and Rehabilitation Centre at Koiwa Hospital and welcomed the first group of 100 volunteers seeking recovery from addiction.
On November 28, 2023, she unveiled plans to collaborate with medical facilities under both national and county governments to allocate dedicated wards for the rehabilitation of individuals struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.
Recognising the overwhelming demand for treatment, she emphasized the inadequacy of existing rehabilitation centers and expressed her intention to work with the Ministry of Health to establish youth rehabilitation wards.
During the official opening of the Ihururu Rehabilitation and Treatment Centre in Tetu, Nyeri, Pastor Dorcas disclosed her office’s plans to collaborate with the national health insurer to extend coverage for drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation and treatment.
