Pastor Ng’ang’a to know fate as police submit probe on accident

A team formed to investigate the circumstance of a fatal accident involving well known TV evangelist   has submitted its report to the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet.

The team investigated the cause of the accident, identities of the people involved and the integrity of officers at Tigoni police station who handled the case.

A Range Rover car belonging to Nairobi Pastor James Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism Centre is alleged to have been involved in the accident that killed one person.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett confirmed to Nairobi News on Monday that the investigations had been completed.

“They have reported back to me and I am studying it (the findings),” he said.

The findings will determine whether the police boss forwards the file to the Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko for possible prosecutions.

The police boss had ordered that officers who handled the case be investigated, then dismissed and prosecuted if it is established they wrote a false report to exonerate Pastor  Ng’ang’a.

This was after media reports suggested that the information given by the traffic police officers at Tigoni may not have been entirely correct.

The pastor’s car was reportedly driving on the wrong side of the Nakuru-Nairobi highway when the accident occurred.

Ms Mercy Njeri died in the accident after the vehicle she was travelling collided with another at Manguo in Limuru.
