Pastor Nganga on the spot in church land saga
The Kenya Railways Corporation has shown its determination to reclaim its vast tracts of land in Nairobi County that reportedly lies in the hands of land grabbers and private developers.
From the recent incident involving Bishop Margaret Wanjiru’s church, Jesus is Alive Ministries, in the Central Business District (CBD) it appears the Corporation is leaving nothing to chance as it bids to kick start the Sh30 billion Rail City project.
Documents seen by Nairobi News show the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) recently filed a case to reclaim the public properties which had been designated to the Corporation.
Among the cases which were filed last year by EACC includes seeking the court’s order to reclaim land with registration number LR. No. 209/9640.
The pieces of land are located along Haile Selassie Avenue.
The land is registered under Neno Evangelism Center Registered Trustees.
The church belongs to the controversial Pastor James Ng’ang’a, who has previously been on the row with Kenya Railways Corporation.
There is a say stating that a prudent person sees trouble ahead and hides, but the naive continue on and suffer the consequences.
Well, after Bishop Wanjiru’s church facing demolition, the Corporation is likely to go after other beneficiaries, and Pastor Nga’ng’a is in the mix.
In 2023, Pastor Ng’ang’a warned those who were attempting to kick him out of his church, claiming that he bought the land from Central Bank of Kenya.
“I bought this land from the Central Bank of Kenya. If there is anyone who stole, go and ask CBK. I took a loan and paid for this land,” Ng’ang’a said.
The petrol station which is located along Haile Selassie Roundabout has also been listed by the anti-corruption body in its case.
Bishop Wanjiru has so far condemned the Kenya kwanza government for allegedly being behind the demolition of her church, insisting that she will not work with President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua again.
She claimed that even after campaigning for the Kenya Kwanza team in the 2022 elections, she was left out in the cold.
