Pastor Ng’ang’a spends second night in police cells


Televangelist James Ng’ang’a spent another night at Gigiri Police Station after a court declined to release him on bond when the appeared to answer to charges of causing death by dangerous driving.

The preacher was arraigned before Limuru Senior Resident Magistrate Timothy Ole Tanchu on Thursday and was charged with causing the death of Mercy Njeri at Manguo along Nairobi-Naivasha highway on June 26 at around 5:45 pm.

The Neno Evangelist Ministry founder also denied charges of failing to report an accident, giving false information and conspiring to defeat justice.

Mr Ole Tanchu ordered the preacher and his three co-accused persons, Inspector Christopher Nzilu, Inspector Patrick Baya and Simon Kuria to be brought back to court Friday when their application to be released on bond will be heard.
