Pastor vows to become a hawker if journalists don’t die in 2017 – VIDEO
A controversial Tanzanian preacher has vowed to resign from preaching and become a hawker if journalists who ‘defamed’ him do not die by 2017.
Anthony Lusekelo, popularly known as Mzee wa Upako, spoke on Sunday during a service at his Kanisa la Maombezi Church.
He said all journalists who recently reported that he is a drunkard and who disturbs his neighbours late at night will die before March 2017.
“Kila Mwandishi aliyeniandika vibaya, ikifikia mwezi wa tatu akiwa hai, mimi naacha kuhubiri, nafunga virago nakwenda kuuza gongo, sasa Mungu ndiye ataamua kwamba ama niache kuhubiri mimi au wewe ufe…najua hata leo mpo humu mmekuja na mnasikiliza tu,” Tanzanian newspaper Mwananchi quoted Pastor Lusekelo.
The pastor was reported to have been arrested in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, for obstructing his neighbours by packing his car on the road to punish neighbours who had accused him of being drunk and unfit to be a religious leader.
After the arrest, the pastor was subjected to an alcohol blow which indicated that he was drunk during the confrontation.
