Patient jumps to his death at Kenyatta Hospital
A patient jumped to his death at the Kenyatta National Hospital over the weekend amid confusion over his hospitalisation.
According to police records at Capitol Hill, Robert Gichora, who had been a cancer patient at St Mary’s Hospital, jumped from the Kenyatta National Hospital’s 7th to 2nd floor dying on the spot.
Medical records only showed that Mr Gachora had been receiving cancer treatment at St Mary’s Hospital but had not been referred to Kenyatta.
“He was a cancer patient who was admitted at St Mary’s Hospital on March 8 and discharged on March 16. However, there were no records showing that he had been admitted or referred to KNH,” read the police report in part.
In November last year, a cancer patient, Cosmas Kenyatta Mutunga, was bludgeoned to death at the referral hospital by unknown people.
