ODM’s Philip Etale comes to Julie Gichuru’s rescue
ODM’s Director of Communication Philip Etale has come out to defend media personality Julie Gichuru over claims that she recently tried to harm Nasa leader Raila Odinga.
Through a tweet, Mr Etale defended Ms Gichuru after she claimed that she had received ‘death threats’ following claims that circulated on social media over the weekend that she intended to harm the opposition leader.
The story of Julie Gichuru attempting to do this or that should be put to rest. Social media should not be used to character assassinate. Verification of facts is a must, good for integrity purposes. This applies to both sides. I am not defending anyone.

Online reports, whose source is yet to be established, have suggested that Ms Gichuru recently traveled to the United States to “keep an eye” on Mr Odinga, who was in the Western nation for a week.
Through her official Twitter handle, the former Citizen TV news anchor, refuted the claims, terming them as ‘vile, vicious, dangerous and fake’ work of crazy bloggers.
Have some crazy bloggers made VILE, VICIOUS, DANGEROUS & FAKE allegations about me & RAO?
This one @JBoinnet @FredMatiangi you must investigate.
I do not believe in harming others. Never have. Never will. Never would.
Now I am getting death threats over FAKE NEWS.

The celebrated media personality however fell short of saying from whom the said ‘death threats’ came from or whether she had formally reported the matter to the police.
