Please stop this rumour that I’m dead – Jaguar

Kenyan musician Jaguar has called for a stop to the rumours on social media that he is dead.

A local blog had on Tuesday posted pictures of a scene of a road accident it claimed had occurred at the Nakuru–Nairobi highway and in which two people died. One of the victims, the blog said, was Jaguar.

But in a statement to media houses on Tuesday afternoon, Jaguar said: “Let me start by apologising to all who may have been adversely affected by the rumors going round that I died after being involved in a car accident.

“I would like to assure you that I am alive and well, going about my work. Kindly ignore any texts messages going round suggesting the same.”

The singer went ahead to sympathise with the “victims” of the said accident.

“If indeed the accident took place today I share my sincere condolences with friends and families of those who may have been affected by it.”

The Kigeugeu singer, who last week opened up about his father being an alcoholic and is currently in rehab in Nyeri, said that he will ensure the blogger is arrested.

“I am in contact with relevant authorities who are investigating the matter to get the person(s) behind the article and the website,” he said.
