Police arrest 25 Burundian girls in Westlands hideout
Police on Friday night raided a house in Westlands and arrested 25 Burundian girls and two other people whose nationality has not been released.
The raid, conducted by a multi-agency team, found the girls living in a deplorable condition in a house in the area.
The girls were apprehended alongside two people who are believed to have been trafficking them to the Middle East.
ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
Police said the suspects will be arraigned in court and charged with being in the country illegally.
The raid and arrest comes just hours after Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i gave foreigners working in Kenya illegally two months to register themselves or risk being kicked out.
Dr Matiang’i said the crackdown will begin at the expiry of the 60 days.
