Police arrest suspected ‘KK brother’ gang members

Police in Kiambu have nabbed five suspects believed to be members of an outlawed criminal gang.

Police say members of the gang, referred to as the KK brothers gang are suspected to have been terrorizing residents in Mwea, Ngoingwa, Ruiru town, Juja farm and Mung’tho areas.

Kiambu County police boss Mr Muchangi Kioi said the five were nabbed by sleuths attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation(DCI) and found in possession of two pistols and two AK47 guns.

He said members of the gang are ruthless and seen to enjoy stealing and ending the lives of civilians.

“They operate in very many ways but top of their game is impersonating police officers. They also wear fake police uniform,” said Mr Kioi.

Nairobi News has established that three more suspects of the gang were arrested as they transported stolen goods from Nairobi to an unknown destination.

The goods include 30 cooking gas cylinder, nine television sets, nine laptops and six subwoofers.

“The three are yet to be fetched by our officers from Kiambu County so as they can shed more light on the gang,” Mr Kioi said.

The trio will be arraigned in court on Tuesday, July 12.
