Police arrest teenager for threatening to kill his father


Police in Gilgil, Nakuru County are holding a 19-year-old son who threatened to end the life of his biological mother.

Mr Samuel Kinyanjui allegedly pointed an item which his father said was a firearm following a domestic quarrel.

Frightened, the father rushed to Gilgil police station where he reported the matter saying that he feared for his life.

Police officers then went to his home intending to nab the son but they were blocked by the mother from accessing the compound.

Even after the officers identified themselves, the woman who was armed with a knife raised an alarm as she referred to them as robbers.

It is then that the officers went ahead and also arrested the aged woman.

“Police visited the scene and the suspect was arrested. During the arrest, the mother intervened while armed with a kitchen knife in an attempt to rescue the son while shouting that thieves had invaded her home,” the police report read in part.

This comes barely hours after Nairobi news reported another incident that took place in Laikipia County where a man allegedly stabbed his son.

Mr David Simon Lengoiboni, 49, was arrested by officers after he stabbed his son Mr Robin Jilano to an extent that his intestines were exposed.

“It was reported by Mr Francis Muthura who is the chief Melwa Location through the phone that there was a murder incident at his area of jurisdiction. It is then that police officers proceeded to the scene,” the report read in part.

When the officers drawn from regular police arrived at the scene it was established the deceased died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.

The officers managed to rescue the suspect from an irate mob that was baying for his blood.

According to the police, he appeared injured since he had been beaten by a section of members of the public as they asked him to explain what had transpired.
