Police call for vigilance in the city during Easter

Nairobians have been urged to be vigilant with their security during the Easter period and report incidents of insecurity.

The Interior Ministry, through its twitter account, urged city residents to make reports to police stations or call the 24-hour call centers using emergency numbers 999 and 112.

Reports can also be made online on the Usalama watch website or via social media.

The call for vigilance comes after police said they will beef up security around most tourist attractions across the country during the Easter weekend.

Nairobi has in the past weeks witnessed terror attacks in Eastleigh. Two home made bombs have also been found on the roadside in separate locations.

Police have been conducting the Operation Usalama Watch across city neighbourhoods to flush out illegal immigrants and suspected terrorist cells.
