Police boss declares Cord’s anti-IEBC protests illegal
Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has declared Cord’s planned protest to IEBC offices in the city centre as illegal.
In a statement on Monday, IG Boinnet argued that the law requires that police must be notified of any planned protest however peaceful it will be.
He said that Cord leaders had not notified the police about their protests and thus, the government will not allow them to protest.
Police have been deployed at Donholm roundabout in Nairobi as the government puts in place measures to contain the situation in the city.
