Police are looking for a Nairobi house help is accused of stealing her employer’s firearm in Muthaiga Ridgeway, Spring Valley estate.

The Beretta pistol was loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.

Police say the woman entered her employer’s bedroom, opened the safe and stole the firearm, Sh350,000 and three mobile phones before escaping.

The employer, a licensed firearm holder who cannot be named for security reasons, told the police that he discovered that his keys were missing on Thursday afternoon.

MISSING

“He left the house at noon to go look for a lawn mower and when he came back to the house, he realised the househelp was missing. He checked and found that the bedroom and safe were open and the belongings were missing,” Nairobi County Police Commander, Japheth Koome said.

Mr Koome said a manhunt for the househelp is underway.

In March this year, a househelp stole her employer’s pistol loaded with 9 rounds of ammunition in Lavington after breaking the safe.

She escaped in the company of an unknown number of people.

Police recovered the pistol and arrested three people, suspected to have dumped the firearm by the roadside in Dagoretti the same evening.
