Police kill four suspects in city robberies


Police in Nairobi on Wednesday gunned down four suspected robbers and recovered three home-made pistols, knives and assorted stolen items.

In Eastleigh, a gang of four men had robbed Mr Aden Ali of his Samsung phone and Sh2,000 along Muratina Road when officers on patrol responded.

Two of the suspects were killed while the rest fled.

Police recovered a home-made pistol with two rounds of nine-milimetre ammunition, knives and 10 mobile phones. The bodies were taken to City Mortuary.

A gang of three men attacked an M-Pesa operator in Buruburu-Shauri Moyo, who raised the alarm. One of the thugs drew his gun but fled on seeing the police, who pursued them.

Police shot one dead and recovered a home-made pistol and two mobile phones. The others escaped.

One of the two thugs who broke into Mr Samson Odera’s DStv hall in Baba Dogo, Ruaraka, was gunned down by police.

Officers said the duo had gained entry by cutting an iron-sheet wall and stole two television sets. The other was admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital with a bullet wound in the right ankle.

A home-made gun capable of firing two rounds, a knife, Sony TV and 80 litres of used transformer oil were recovered.
