Police officer attacks colleague with a machete after quarrelling over woman

Two police officers on the evening of Tuesday, October 11, 2022, fought after one of their wives went to seek refuge at the other’s home.

She accused her husband of being violent.

In a police report filed at Naisambu Police Station in Kiminini Sub County, Transnzoia County, it all started when Mr Lauson Mukwanah had a domestic issue with his wife identified as Ms Beatrice Kisiangani.

It is then that the wife rushed to the house of an officer identified as Mr Joshua Too where she explained herself and took refuge.

“The two officers had an argument which ended up in a physical confrontation. Mr Mukwana then ran back to his house and locked himself inside,” the police report read in part.

Mr Too also followed him while armed with a machete and dared Mr Mukwana to come out of the house and go on fighting with him.

The officer went ahead and broke all the window panes, and attacked Mr Mukwana by cutting him on the left side of his face.

“The Officer Commanding Station (OCS) was notified and the injured was rushed to the Kitale County Referral Hospital for treatment,” the report further read.

Over the weekend, Ms Immaculate Mwende Mwirigi was killed by her boyfriend identified as Mr Emmanuel Walugu Onyango.

Mr Onyango is said to have arrived home and sprayed his lover with bullets, killing her instantly before turning the gun on himself.

It remains unclear why the KDF officer decided to end the life of Ms Mwende who usually posted him on Facebook and shared how much she was in love with him.

On October 11, 2021, Ms Mwende changed her profile picture and put that of Mr Onyango who is seen wearing a black t-shirt and trousers.

On the same day, she also shared a post on the same Facebook account indicating she was hurt because she realised that she was not as important as she had initially thought

“It hurts when you realise you aren’t as important to someone as you thought you were,” she posted on her Facebook account.

Moments later, she uploaded another photo of the deceased officer on Facebook and placed it as the cover photo.
