Policeman caught on tape demanding bribe from motorist to be sacked
A traffic police officer who was caught on camera soliciting for a bribe from a motorist will be dismissed from the police service.
The National Police Service, on its official Twitter handle, said the officer, identified as Corporal Jared Ogutu, will face stern disciplinary action.
The officer is said to be attached to Narok County.
“The National Police Service will not tolerate corruption within its ranks and any officer caught engaging in the vice will be dismissed,” the service further tweeted.
The officer caught on video soliciting for a bribe has been identified as Corporal Jared Ogutu attached to Narok County. He is being processed vide the Police disciplinary code for eventual dismissal.

In a video, which has since gone viral on social media, the police officer is seen demanding for a bribe from a motorist who identifies himself as a Masters student from Makerere University who is in Kenya for an engineering project with his professor.

The National Police Service further tweeted that it will not tolerate corruption within its ranks and any officer caught engaging in the vice will be dismissed while at the same time warning members of the public not to bribe the officers.
