Population growth good for us, say traders

By NN REPORTER December 20th, 2013 1 min read

Commuters from the city centre to Eastlands never run short of window shopping opportunities.

Starting from Jogoo road, near the City Stadium to Doonholm and beyond, there are colourful makeshift business stalls on which goods for sale are conspicuously displayed.

And as the population in the areas grows, businesses also get better — attracting more traders every day.  “Since I set foot here about a year ago, my business has grown tremendously. I have customers from Makadara, Donholm and even Buruburu and that has expanded my business, “ said Eric Njogu at his stall near City Stadium.

At the stalls are displayed handbags, bedding, clothes, shoes and food. Moving down to Hamza, the first thing that catches your eye is a display of furniture.

“This place has a fertile ground for doing business in furniture, “said Maria Wanja as she dusted off a coffee table at her furniture store.
