Power blackout to affect residents, businesses in seven counties for eight hours
Seven counties will today be affected by power interruption that will last for eight hours, the Kenya Power Company has notified the public.
In a statement, the company said Nairobi is among the affected counties, the specific areas being Makongeni estate, Makongeni Social Hall and adjacent areas.
In Narok County the areas that will be affected include Narok town, Mwamba K24, Polonga, Maasai Mara University, Macedonia, Ole Tipis Girls Secondary School, Popong, Narok Level Five Hospital, Narok County offices, Motonyi, Rotian, Kisiriri, Lenana, London, Majengo and Nkareta.

Residents of Njoro town and Maili Tatu in Nakuru County will experience the power blackout. Other areas in the county that will affected include Njoro Sub-County Hospital, Sian Roses, Chemsian Farm, Kerma, Piave, Ngata, Jawatho, Bondeni, Njoro Police Station, Kimakia, Njoro Boys High School, Njoro Girls High School, Brook Site, Karlo, Njoro Day Secondary School, Hortecs Flowers and Nakuru Plastics.
In Meru County the affected areas include Mafuko Bakery, Gulf Petrol Station, Kagaa, Runogone, Chugu, Kenya Methodist University, Fred’s Academy, Kithoka, Ripples, Runogone and Chugu.
Kirinyaga County will be similarly affected with the specific areas being Kibirigwi, Kibingoti, Kiangwaci, Kangocho, Kiburu, Kianjege, Ihara, Kieni Girls’, Upper Sagana, Kairine, Nguguini and Kareti Police Post.
In Kiambu County, Munene Industries, Wilmer Feeds, BHUCO industries, YMCA Kenya Railways, Madharau estate, Slaughter near Broadway Maandazi Factory, KEL Chemicals, Mama Millers and Nampak will be affected.
Kabuku, St Paul’s University, Mulango Farm, Loreto School, Thingati, Tigoni Farm, Mbugua Enterprise, Manjiri, Glacier Limited, Potato Research, Jumia Conference Center, Flora Delight Farm, Mellon Farm, Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Red Hill and Limuru International will also be affected.
In Kilifi County, power interruption will be felt in Ribe, Kambe Dispensary, Ziro Primary School, Pangani Market, Sagwa Center, Jibana Health, Jeuri Primary, Bondora, Mbugoni Primary School, Ribe Boys’ and Girls’, Mianzani and the adjacent areas.
Kakuyuni, Gongoni, Mtangani, Marafa, Sunpark, Garashi, Kakuyuni, Marekebuni and Beach Bay will also be affected.
