A pregnant house-help was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her employer’s house at Laiser estate in Nairobi Thursday.

Kagendi Gitonga, 25, was found lying dead in her room by her employer, Gladys Nyachiao.

Police spokesperson Zipporah Mboroki said the house-help, who was found half naked, was also pregnant.

“Kagendi who died in her employer’s house at around 9:50 p.m. was five months pregnant,” said Ms Mboroki.

“Her body was half naked when police arrived at the scene, but had no physical injuries.”

Ms Mboroki also said that police found crude pipes beside the deceased, an indication that she might have committed suicide.

The body was taken to the Nairobi City mortuary for post-mortem as police try to establish the exact cause of death.
