PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

President Magufuli, who came to power in after winning the country’s Presidential Election on October 25, 2015, has earned plaudits for his uncompromising stand on corruption.

President Magufuli brief rule so far has also been characterized by strict rule of law and discipline within the civil service that is unprecedented in the country’s history.

He is also increasingly gaining influence within the East Africa Community, having recently won over Uganda and Rwanda as economic partners at the expense of Kenya, which has for long been regarded as the regional economic powerhouse.
