Prophet sells ‘anointed’ cucumbers to his followers

A self-proclaimed prophet in Zimbabwe has raised eyebrows for selling “anointed” cucumbers to his congregation.

According to an online magazine Naij.com, Prophet Walter Magaya of the Prophetic Healing and Deliverance ministries (PHDM) in Zimbabwe, had his ushers circulate cucumbers to the congregation, for a certain amount of money, after ‘anointing’ them.

However, some members of the public have come out to say that the cucumbers were not sold but given for free.

In August 2016, Prophet Magaya was accused and charged for alleged rape and he has also made headlines for allegedly banning PHD holders from his church services.

The incident comes in the wake of another one in South Africa where a pastor reportedly used an insecticide to heal members of his congregation.

This new breed of prophets in a quest for signs, miracles and wonders sparked outrage from netizens.
