Protesting high school students jeered for their poor English – VIDEO

A group of high school students airing their grievances on live television to Education Secretary Amina Mohammed has raised concerns among netizens.

The schoolgirls in Machakos county had marched to the local Ministry of Education office to complain on the poor living conditions at their school.

“Tumekuja ministry of education kuleta malalamishi kuhusu hiyo shule, kutoka tujoin hiyo shule hatujawahi kufanya practical, hatujawahi ona fence hatujawahi ona funky, hatujawahi ona maji fresh tunakulanga na maji ya mto, chakula ni kidogo. Tumeshinda kusema diet ichanjiwe sisi ni madem tunakulanga cabbage kila siku,” said one of the students.

And that is not all. They also complained of having clogged toilets, no entertainment at the school and insufficient beds that has seen to them sharing a bed from two to three persons.

A scout among the students complained of having to raise a tattered national flag during assembly days.

But although the concerns were valid, what captured the attention of the online community is the students’ poor command of English and their insistence in using sheng.
