Puzzle of tutor who was abducted and killed in Kilgoris


The body of a Narok-based tutor who had been abducted was found dumped by the roadside on Tuesday.

The body of the teacher, who has been identified as Ken Simotwo, was discovered along Kiamakoma-Kilgoris.

Mr Simotwo was reported to have been abducted by carjackers who disappeared with his car.

Details of the exact date of the kidnapping of the Kilgoris Technical Training Institute tutor, however, remains unclear. Similarly, the motive of the kidnapping remains unknown.

Mr Simotwo’s vehicle (registration number KCA 122V), has since been recovered with reports indicating that it was found in Mombasa.

“Ken popularly known as Ole Simotwo was a friend to me and one to many others and a mentor to even more. He was a dedicated philanthropist who used most of his time to motivate many youths about Tvets over time,” a friend of the deceased wrote on Facebook.

Cases of abduction in the country have increased in recent times. Media personality Ciku Muiruri is the latest victim of these cases following the kidnapping of daughter Erica Njeri.

However, the 26-year-old was found safe with the abductors said to be demanding a ransom of Sh250,000 before releasing her.

Ms Njeri alongside her friend, Shanice Agose, went missing on June 4, 2023. According to the DCI Shanice was also found safe.
