Abstain from sex on eve of elections, Raila tells Nasa supporters

National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga has urged his supporters to abstain from sex on the eve of the August 8 general elections.

Speaking in Kakamega on Saturday, during the official launch of the Nasa campaigns, Mr Odinga – who is considered President Uhuru Kenyatta’s biggest challenger – told the mammoth crowd that attended the rally to instead prepare “for war”.

“We have the numbers, the real work of voting and protecting the vote will start at 4am. Dear mothers and sisters, on that night please tell your husbands we will celebrate after winning the elections,” Odinga said to the amusement of the crowd.

CORRUPTION

Mr Odinga cited the high cost of living, corruption, unemployment and tribalism as the main reasons as to why the Jubilee government should be sent home.

Speaking at the same event, Mr Odinga’s running mate Kalonzo Musyoka blasted the Jubilee Government for embarrassing the opposition leader during the Madaraka Day celebrations on Thursday in Nyeri County.

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, who was warmly received by the locals, said the Jubilee Government had resorted to locking him out of public functions in his County because they were scared of him.
