Raila to Gachagua: I’m prepared to pay the ultimate price for the liberation of Kenyans

Azimio leader Raila Odinga has said that he is not afraid to die for what he believes is right.

“You can assassinate Raila Odinga physically but you cannot assassinate his ideas and beliefs,” Odinga added as the crowd cheered.

Odinga who was addressing an Azimio rally in Nakuru was responding to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s sentiment that the time to deal with Odinga is now.

On March 15, 2023, Gachagua said, “Raila and his father troubled Kenyans for 60 years. The time to deal with him is now.”

Odinga said that he is ready to die for the sake of justice.

“I want to tell Gachagua that he has no right to stand before the people of Kenya as the Deputy President. Where was he when we were troubling Kenyans as he claims?

He noted that no one will bar him from matching forward towards the liberation of Kenyans. The seasoned politician noted that the protests he has organised to put pressure on President William Ruto’s government will be peaceful.

“Our main agenda is to protect our people. We are not in the business of destroying people’s properties,” he added.

He urged Nakuru residents to come in large numbers in Nairobi on March 20, 2023 for the mega protest.

Raila has also wanted President William Ruto to open servers for Kenyans to know who won the election.

“Kenyans must know who won the presidential seat in the August 9, 2022 election.”

However, President Ruto has said that his government will not be moved by the ongoing Azimio la Umoja protest.

He promised that his government will ensure that no one will lose his or her property and that no life will be lost.

“Enough is enough and you cannot continue to blackmail the country,” the President said.
