A member of the team of lawyers that represented Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga in the presidential petition has confirmed that he lost vital data during hearings at the Supreme Court.

Lawyer Jackson Awele refrained from connecting the lost data to Mr Odinga’s petition, but told Nairobi News that he lost a black laptop bag that contained vital documents between the 28th and 1st September during the petition.

Mr Awele said he now needs the documents and has offered to pay a generous monetary reward to anyone who can find the bag or return its contents.

RECOVERY OF CONTENTS

“I lost a computer bag at the Supreme Court between the 28th and the 1st of September. I am offering a generous monetary reward (5 figure) for anyone with it and an even more generous monetary reward to whoever can find its contents or provide information leading to the recovery of its contents, with or without the bag,” he said in a Facebook post.

He narrated how he lost the bag as he went out to be part of Mr Odinga’s team that audited forms 34A and 34B at Milimani Law Courts.

When he returned to the Supreme Court to retrieve it, a colleague whom he had left next to his possessions told him a man came and informed him that he (Mr Awele) had sent him for the bag.

“I asked around but no one had seen the guy and unfortunately we can’t be able to get any video evidence since the Supreme Court has no CCTV cameras,” Mr Awele told Nairobi News.
