Hundreds stranded after heavy rains disrupt Likoni ferry services
The Likoni ferry channel operations were on Tuesday disrupted due to heavy currents caused by overflow of water due to the ongoing torrential rains.
Hundreds of ferry users rushing to their places of work were left stranded for hours at the channel. Only two ferries, Mv Kwale and Mv Kilindini, were in service leading to a crisis.
The Mbogolo Bridge on Mombasa-Malindi highway was completely submerged.
The coastal region has been hard hit by the heavy downpour being experienced in the country.
