Reprieve for motorists as fuel prices reduce

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on Friday announced a reduction in fuel prices.

In this month’s review, the price of super petrol has gone down by Sh3.06.

Households that use Kerosene to cook and light will pay Sh3.58 less per litre.

The price of diesel also reduced by Sh1.82 per litre in the new pump prices.

The commission, in a statement, said the reduction in prices was due to a decrease in the average landed cost of imported super petrol, diesel and kerosene.

Super petrol will retail at Sh98 in Nairobi, while diesel will go for Sh88.62 per litre.

Kerosene will retail at a maximum of Sh64.38 per litre in Nairobi.

The new prices will take effect on Friday midnight till May 14 when the next price review shall be done.
