REVEALED: Details of Olunga’s Sh12 million monthly pay in Chinese move

Top tier Chinese club Guizhou Henferf Zhicheng FC splashed out more than Sh1.2 billion to acquire the services of Harambee Stars striker Micheal Olunga.

The 22 year-old joined the Guiyang based club in January, in a transfer that highlighted the financial might of the world’s fastest growing football league.

According to close multiple sources privy to the deal, Zhicheng paid Olunga’s former club IF Djurgardens Sh500 million as transfer fee.

What’s more, Olunga – formerly at Gor Mahia – will pocket Sh12 million each month as salary for the duration of his four year contract.

Curiously, half of that amount has reportedly been released to the player under the terms of his contract.

The amount excludes match winning bonuses, training allowance and image rights deals that are negotiated separately.

While in China, Olunga will link up with several football stars, including Brazilians Oscar, Paulinho and Hulk, Ivorian Gervinho, Cameroon midfielder Staphanie Mbia and Ghana sensation Asamoah Gyan.
