Ringtone: I have no beef with Jaguar

Gospel musician Alex Apoko, best known as Ringtone, has cleared the air on claims of having a simmering beef with secular artiste Jaguar.

Ringtone said he and Jaguar are actually friends despite inhabiting different worlds.

Claims of animosity between the two artistes were sparked after Ringtone posted disparaging comments on social media regarding Jaguar’s appointment in the National Authority for Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Nacada) board .

“I am sorry to disappoint the haters but Jaguar is my friend and we go a long way back” he said.

He added that he believed Jaguar was the best person for the job.

“As a gospel artiste, I mostly minister to Christians and people who have given their lives to Christ, whereas he reaches the secular crowd who party and think drugs are fun.

“He will be able to reach them and educate them on the dangers of drug abuse in a way I cannot,” he said.

Ringtone also clarified that he believes all good things come from God and hence his decision to fast for new car for which Jaguar derided him for.

“I don’t expect Jaguar to understand how Christians involve God in every aspect of their lives however small. I pray, I fast for everything especially for inspiration to my songs,” he said.

“But we are friends and revel in our differences.”

Ringtone said he has no plans to do a collabo with Jaguar.
