Risper Faith: I fell for Brian Muiruri’s heart, not his wallet!

Socialite Risper Faith has said that contrary to what most people believe, she did not marry Brian Muiruri because of his deep pockets.

The bubbly and bold former Nairobi Diaries actress claims that when she first met Muiruri, he didn’t appear or show any signs of being wealthy.

Faith credits him for changing and uplifting her life.

“The true story that most people don’t know is that I never fell in love with him because of his money. When I first met Brian, he didn’t look like a man of means to me,” Risper explains.

“When we first met, he didn’t show me any money, I think that’s typical of ‘Kikuyu’ men. Even those with deep pockets never appear as wealthy as you would expect.”

Risper says it was when she found out she was pregnant with their first child that she realised her husband was a wealthier man than she had previously thought, as he never revealed much.

“It was only when I got pregnant that I started to see how rich my husband was. I think Kikuyu men are cut from the same cloth, they will never show you opulence in the beginning. They take their time to study you, they put you through a kind of test unconsciously, without you knowing, before they decide whether they want to be with you or not.”

By the time they met, Risper says she was tired of being “on the streets” and wanted someone who could love her for who she was.

“When I met Brian I was broke, no make-up, no fancy clothes, just me and desperate to find someone real who would love me for who I was. However, despite my poor financial status, I think what my husband fell for at first was my good physique. But over time he also realised that I was a very genuine and kind person and he fell in love with that too,” she adds.

She believes her bubbly, friendly personality won him over.

Unlike the outgoing Risper, Muiruri is known as reserved.
