A city trader who operates an M-Pesa shop near Donholm was on Tuesday night shot and injured after she refused to surrender airtime scrathcards.

The woman was on her way home when she was confronted by three robbers who ordered her to give them the bag she was carrying which contained the airtime valued at Sh400,000.

According to police, the woman resisted and tried to run away but was shot on the back and the bullet lodged in her stomach.

The robbers made away with the victim’s bag and left the woman bleeding by the road side.

Good Samaritans rushed her to Metropolitan hospital in critical condition.

PULLED A GUN

In Kabete, along Naivasha Road, a police officer was forced to alight a vehicle which had caused an accident on Tuesday night after the offender pulled a gun and ordered the officer to alight.

The Dagoreti traffic officer was escorting the Toyota NZE registration number KBN 932D to Kawangware AP camp after it had been involved in accident with a Nissan Matatu after he ascertained the saloon car was on the wrong.

Instead of going to the AP camp, the driver sped towards Kikuyu.

On realising that he was being followed by boda boda riders, he pulled out a Ceska pistol, pointed it to the officer and ordered him to hand him back his driver’s license and to alight.

Members of the public told the officer the vehicle normally supplies maize flour in the area.

The officer was not injured and police are looking for the driver and the motor vehicle.
