Royal rivalry: How Rachel Ruto defeated President William Ruto

President William Ruto and his wife, First Lady Rachel Ruto actively involved in the World Cup finals tweeting and drumming up support for their teams.

With the finals being extremely heated, the Head of State was supporting France while Mama Rachel, Argentina.

In a tweet, President Ruto shared, “Supporting the African team in the world Cup finals. Good luck Rachel and kids as you support the other side. Remember to pay the bet!! Either way, expecting fine football.”

In response, Mama Rachel tweeted, “Game on Bill. May the best team win. Vamos Argentina!!!”

No sooner had Argentina scored its two goals, with the first being a penalty kick than Mama Rachel tweeted again, “Two goals up! Bet still on Bill?”

The finals marked by heated tension plus mixed emotions depending on the team one was supporting would culminate in a draw after both of the teams were awarded extra time.

Though by the time thirty minutes of extra time were over, Argentina and France had each scored three goals. To determine the winner, the two teams were each given 5 penalty kicks with Argentina scooping 4 against France with 2.

France’s defeat saw President Ruto tweet, “Congratulations Argentina for winning the World Cup. My African team at the world Cup played a superb game. Will pay my bet!!! All round wonderful game. Tukutane home.”

On the other hand, an excited Mama Rachel also jumped on the bandwagon of congratulating Argentina sharing, “Wear your three stars with pride! Bill, pay your bill!”

Kylian Mbappe became the first World Cup champion who scored many goals with the 23-year-old scoring three goals at the exhilarating finals.

He was awarded the World Cup Golden Boot in honour of having scored the most goals in the tournament. This World Cup was the last tournament for Lionel Messi, an Argentinian forward.
