Ruto ally treats friends to Sh117k lunch and Facebook can’t cope

An ally of Deputy President William Ruto on Friday splashed out a staggering amount of cash to entertain his friends and later took to social media to showoff  his huge bill.

The post on Facebook by Lawyer Donald Kipkorir of his spending has subsequently become a trending topic on social media.

“Today, I hosted my friends to lunch at Secret Garden restaurant, 14riverside, Riverside,” Mr Kipkorir’s post read.

The lawyer went ahead to post a few pictures of some of the guests he entertained, including a receipt of his bill which stood at Sh117,000.

FACEBOOK REACTION

“I don’t object to you spending your money and living large, but there ways you can ‘ball’ without necessarily stooping so low! Real millionaires ball in silence, posting bills/plane tickets/hotel room pics/etc all over social media everytime you give yourself a treat is just being too cheap. Obviously you will scare us, the sufferers into submission, but what will your fellow millionaires think of you? I repeat, there are ways you can show off without stooping too low!” one Allan Nyongesa wrote.

Ruth Malala had a simple request: “Wakili I just work around there at Hanover building next time hola me though I saw the group din’t know it was you ninge gate crush,” while Eng Jonah R Cheserek said: “Hapo kwa mambo ya receipt umeanguka snr.”

A certain Jojo Jojo Jojo opined: “You live once wakili; besides this looks like its your Individual Social Responsibility. Nobody can ever understand the fulfilment it leaves you with. Do it again and ensure to spend more,” while Grace Karigi differed: “Yes it is… A wall that you share with the rest of the world. Ask yourself what motivated you to display that receipt… You know deep down it is vanity but then again so are most humans.. Said with respect.”
