I am being sabotaged, claims Leopards coach

AFC Leopards coach Ivan Minnaert has sensationally claimed he is being sabotaged by a clique of officials at the club.

Speaking on Monday night as a guest on SuperSport’s weekly show, PlayBack, the Belgian tactician however expressed confidence that he will turn over the club’s dwindling fortunes in the second leg of the current season of the Kenyan Premier League.

Leopards are set to play Tusker on Wednesday afternoon, in their final fixture of the first leg.

“I know from experience, that it is almost impossible to get a hundred percent support from the officials at any given club,” the former Rayon Sport tactician said.

POOR RUN

“But at Leopards, we have a scenario where if you lose a game, some officials are very happy. This is a very difficult environment to work in. To the fans, we apologize for the poor show and results, I want them to believe we are working round the clock to improve on these aspects,” he added.

Leopards have been on a free fall – performance wise –  in the past couple of weeks, with the team failing to post a win in any of its last six league matches.

As a result, the team has dropped from first to eighth on the standings, and now even boast of a negative goal aggregate with 19 points from 14 matches.

Meanwhile, sources have revealed that the opportunity to lure big name signings to the club in June, which comes along with sizeable cash, is among the issues dividing the club’s management and technical bench.
