Sad! Nation Media Group confirm NTV journalist Rita Tinina’s death
Veteran journalist Rita Tinina is dead.
Her employer Nation Media Group confirmed the sad news on March 17.
Team, this morning we received the sad news that our colleague Rita Tinina had passed away in her house,” said Group Editorial Director Joe Ageyo.
“She was expected to be in the office today but did not show up. The information we have so far is that she was fine all of yesterday but unfortunately, was found unresponsive this morning. The family has requested privacy at this difficult time. This is indeed a tragic development and I request us to be calm as we await more information.”
Nairobi News understands the celebrated journalists lifeless body was discovered at her house in Kileleshwa, a Nairobi suburb, March 17.
According to a witness present at the scene, police have confirmed the incident, although details surrounding the circumstances of her demise remain unclear.
The cause of her sudden passing is yet to be determined and police have taken up the investigations.
Upon the discovery of her body, Tinina’s family members were present, as police proceeded to transport her remains to the mortuary for further examination through an autopsy process.
A mother to a daughter, Tinina had an illustrious career spanning over a decade within the media industry.
Her professional journey included significant roles at KTN and NTV.
Her death has shocked the nation with condolences pouring in.
