A disabled boy pictured being wheeled by his friends to the Koth Biro football tournament has received a brand new wheelchair from Senator Johnson Sakaja.

The first-time senator has also offered to sponsor the boy’s surgical procedure to rectify a defect in his digestive system.

Flita, as the boy is known, first met the senator on Saturday at the tournament’s quarter final in Ziwani.

Sakaja posted of Facebook how he met the boy and got a narration of how Flita’s friends always wheel him to watch every match.

On Wednesday, Sakaja met the boys in his office together with their parents where he presented them with Christmas gifts.

“Was able to gift him with a brand new wheelchair that he can ride as he exercises his limbs. He has been in dire need of a surgical procedure to correct his digestive system. I have organised for him to travel tomorrow and will cater for this. I will also take care of all the four boys educational needs. Together with their local leaders, I will ensure that their parents are able to earn a steady income so as to cater for them,” Sakaja wrote.

During the meet up, Flita and his friends got to sample the new wheelchair that allows him to ride with his hands as he exercises.
