Sauti Sol unveil album cover for ‘Live and Die in Afrika’
Sauti Sol have finally unveiled the album cover and track list of their anticipated third album, Live and Die in Afrika.
The 15-track album is the group’s first self-produced studio album which includes such hits as Nerea featuring Amos and Josh, Nishike, and Sura Yako, all which have been popular since being released.
The album, was launched on Friday at an exclusive listening party at Spring Valley in Nairobi.
The physical copy of the album will be available for purchase at a later date in Nakumatt stores countrywide.
The group added that the physical copy would however be available in three different forms: the compact disc which will be sold to the general public, a limited edition leather casing copy that will be made available once fans register on Sauti Sol’s website, and an exclusive wooden casing copy with a personalized engravings to be given to a chosen few.
Sauti Sol made the announcement of the free album as they launched their newest video for the title track of the album.
The cover, which was shot at African Heritage House, stands out from any of their previous ones. The production behind the cover was produced by celebrity stylist Annabel Onyango.
The group recently won the Best African Group/Duo/Band & Producer of The Year categories, both for the song Sura Yako, at AFRIMA Awards in Nigeria.
On the cover of Live and Die in Afrika, Sauti Sol and their traditional styling evoke “what it means to be authentically and proudly African”. The outfits make the group’s singers look like African chiefs or royalty.
