Sauti’s Sol’s Bien takes social media break, quits chewing miraa


Music maestro Bien Baraza says he’s decided to take a step back from social media citing toxicity.

“So after a long hard look in the mirror, I’ve decided to change my ways. The internet is a very toxic place and I just want to take a step back. There are a lot of habits that I picked up along the way that I’m leaving behind this year. I just wanna reset and rewind. Thank you,” he explained in a tweet.

In another post, the singer added that he is now a changed man and that considering quitting khat, commonly known as ‘miraa’ in his new reform. He made the confession on his Instagram page, adding, “Time to reset and rewind. From this day onwards, I am a changed man. I am even considering quitting ‘jaba’. It won’t be easy but the Lord is with me.”

The comments sparked some social media banter from the artist’s friends with many wishing him well on his new journey as well as congratulating him on the bold move made.

Bien has had his fair share of online trolling and negative feedback from internet users. For one, the revelation he made on social media that he and his wife Chiki Kiruka are in an open marriage.

The most recent is his war of words with comedian Eric Omondi, where the comedian was accused of withholding the artist’s lost items from the NYE concert, in which Konshens was featured.
