Senator Sonko rescues DJ Mo after arrest
NTV’s gospel show co-host DJ Mo was briefly arrested by police officers Monday in Naivasha town as he was heading to Nakuru to visit relatives.
In an interview with Nairobi News, the DJ, who co-hosts the Cross Over 101 on Sundays, refused to confirm nor deny suggestions that Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko rescued him by making a phone call to the police station.
“The officers arrested me because of speeding,” said DJ Mo. “However, they changed the story when I refused to bribe them.”
TINTED WINDOWS
When he was asked by the officers to head to the police station in Naivasha town, they imposed another charge of driving a car with tinted windows.
Only public service vehicles are affected by the tint rule.
A scuffle ensued when he refused to allow the officers in his car and insisted on driving himself to the station.
The officers already had his driving licence, he told Nairobi News.
When he reached the station, word has it that he communicated with the Nairobi senator who called the station to inquire on the issue.
He was later released and headed to Nakuru.
