Man pleads guilty to sex drug charge
A man appeared before a Makadara court on Tuesday charged with importing 440,000 tablets of a sex enhancing drug without a permit.
Joshua Mutemi Maithya pleaded guilty to the charge of importing the sex enhancing drug called “Vega” without a permit from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

He was remanded in Police custody until Wednesday when the sentence will be delivered.
The Pharmacy and Poisons Board had intercepted a consignment of the unregistered drug going by the name “Vega” valued at about Sh44 million on Friday.
Chief Inspector George Okello told the court on Tuesday that the cargo with the drugs arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International on Tuesday last week and had been held at the airport awaiting verification from the regulatory agency.
Preliminary report from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, Mr Okello said, indicated that the businessman had not obtained requisite permit before bringing the substances into the country.
Senior Resident Magistrate Evelyn Nyongesa remanded the man until Wednesday when the report from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board will be presented to the court before sentencing him.
