Shauri Moyo police boss shot during raid in his home


Shauri Moyo police station commander was shot and seriously injured by gunmen in his Ruai home on Wednesday night.

Chief Inspector Augustine Mutembei was shot four times after gunmen broke into his house at around 2.30am in Mihango, Ruai.

Kayole OCPD Ali Nuno has confirmed the incident.

The officer was asleep with his family when he heard some commotion in the sitting room.

He fired at the gunmen but they managed to shoot back at him before escaping.

Nothing was stolen from the house during the incident.

He is admitted at a city hospital in stable condition.

The attack happened 10 days after four armed men also raided the residence of Kasarani MP Njoroge Chege and injured a guard.

The thugs stole the legislator’s car, a Mitsubishi Pajero, during the 3 a.m. attack.
