She hasn’t moved on! Ben Pol calls out Anerlisa for celebrating divorce
Bongo Flava singer Ben Pol has weighed on his ongoing divorce case with Keroche heiress Anerlisa Muigai.
In a chat with Nairobi News, Ben Pol, who still says he is yet to receive any new notification from the court where he filed the divorce case in April last year, believes his ex-wife hasn’t yet moved on since they parted ways sometime in March 2021.

A few weeks back, Muigai couldn’t hide her joy as she celebrated the ‘official’ end of her marriage to the Moyo Mashine hit-maker as she passed gratitude to the team of her lawyers.
In a write-up on her Instagram stories to her 10 million followers, Muigai said she received a notification from her lawyers informing her that the divorce had been officially granted and that she is now officially a ‘free woman’.
However, in a quick rejoinder, Ben Pol denied the development insisting that being the initiator of the divorce, the court was yet to communicate with him, and the status quo remains.

While still on the matter, speaking recently from Bukoba, Tanzania, the 32-year-old claimed Muigai’s behaviour paints an image of someone still hurting.
“Honestly, I don’t know why people think divorce is fun unless you are extremely broken or haven’t really moved on,” Ben Pol told Nairobi News.
He continued, “That’s when you will see divorce as something to celebrate about. I have never seen something like that. I mean, your own divorce, how can it be fun? Someone clearly isn’t okay.”

The singer filed for divorce in April 2021 at a Dar es Salaam court just 11 months after the pair wedded.
Anerlisa and Ben Pol began their affair in 2018, having met at a press conference in Nairobi. They dated secretly before going public with their affair.
The two would marry in 2020 in a private wedding ceremony attended by close family and friends in Tanzania.
The cracks in their marriage would soon appear, with Anerlisa dropping Ben Pol’s surname even as both parties remained tight-lipped on what was going on.
The singer would then file for divorce after 11 months since they married.

In an interview with Nation, Ben Pol said he tried all possible ways to save the marriage, but his efforts were not enough.
“We broke up in episodes before things got out of hand and we finally split,” Ben Pol revealed.
“What I can say is that I did everything I could for the marriage to work,” he added,
“I did my best but it wasn’t enough.” Said the singer who released his latest single dubbed ‘Enjoyment’.
