SIZE 8: My most memorable Christmas, when my dad took us to Mombasa for the first time

Gospel artiste Linet Masiro Munyali popularly known as Size 8 has had countless memorable Christmases but the one she will never forget was spent at Uhuru Park and another at Mombasa.

“My dad (Samuel Kirui Munyali) took us to Uhuru Park and those days the park was a big deal for everyone not just for us, he bought us chicken and chips and as we munched away. We couldn’t help but enjoy the day with him,” Size 8 told Nairobi News.

Then there was her first Christmas in Mombasa again when she was a very young girl and the trip had been funded by her father.

“I had never seen the ocean and it was my first time at the coast. We had a lot of fun with our entire family and since I was a young girl Christmas has always been about family,” she said.

MOTHER’S DEATH

Size 8 had a tough Christmas in 2015, it was a month after the death of her mother, Esther Njeri Munyali, and at the same time a month after the birth of her daughter Ladasha Belle Wambo.

“I had just been through a lot, my mother was gone, I had delivered a baby via CS and I was sick. My husband (Samwel Muraya aka DJ Mo) was there for me the entire time,” recalled Size 8.

This Christmas will be all about family for the Pale Pale hit maker and despite being the second Christmas without her mother by her side, she intends to have a merry one.

Size 8 wishes you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2017!
