So help me God! Isaac Mwaura on appointment as government spokesperson

Isaac Mwaura has broken his silence after being appointed as the government spokesperson by President William Ruto.

In a statement, Mwaura expressed his gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve the nation in this capacity.

“Glory be to God! He is indeed so very faithful to those who wait upon Him. What God has kept for you, He will surely make it come to pass no matter how long! Many thanks to President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for appointing me as the government spokesman! So help me God,” he stated.

This appointment marks a significant milestone in Mwaura’s career, and he acknowledged the faith placed in him by President Ruto and Deputy President Gachagua.

Mwaura will now take over from the former Government Spokesperson, Colonel (Retired) Cyrus Oguna, who was appointed the Government Spokesperson on May 7, 2019, replacing Eric Kiraithe.

The Government Spokesperson was left vacant after Oguna, who had served in the position from May 2019, resigned in October 2022 to take up the position of Chief of Staff for Siaya Governor James Orengo.

The transition comes after President Ruto’s Chief Administrative Secretary appointments faced legal challenges, delaying the process.

Mwaura had previously been chosen as a Chief Administrative Secretary in the office of Musalia Mudavadi, the Prime Cabinet Secretary.

His appointment as government spokesperson reflects his continued dedication to public service.

Mwanaisha Chidzuga and Gabriel Muthuma have been selected as his replacements.
