Songbird Avril thanks Wanyama for supporting her career
Celebrated Kenyan artiste Avril says she is humbled by the support she has received from Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama.
Avril, whose real name is Judith Nyambura Mwangi, took to social media to express the sentiments.
The singer was responding to a revelation by Tottenham Hotspur midfielder that he often listens to songs by Avril before taking to the field to play for his English club.
The story was first reported by Nairobi News last weekend when Wanyama was part of the national team that was preparing for two international friendly matches.

“When travelling to the stadium for league matches, I usually put on my head phones and listen to some music mostly from Sauti Sol or Avril… wonderful stuff, that makes me relax and prepare for the task ahead,” Wanyama said during the interview.
Wanyama had also confirmed during the same interview that he is a huge fan of Kenya’s multiple award winning band Sauti Sol.
In her response via her official Twitter handle, Avril wrote; “Humbled much!!! Thank you @Victorwanyama. I’m glad you enjoy my music.”
