Sonko comes to the aid of critically injured Leopards fan

Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Mike Sonko and senatorial candidate Johnson Sakaja have come to the aid of an AFC Leopards fan who suffered life threatening injuries in a recent accident.

The fan, only identified as Rose, was among dozens of others affiliated to the Amani Woodley branch who were travelling to Mombasa for last Saturday’s league match against Bandari.

The bus they were travelling in rolled several times at around Mtito Andei, causing severe injuries to Rose. Medics say she could have her right hand amputated.

“Sonko has commissioned his fleet of medical vans to Mtito Andei to bring Rose to Nairobi for specialised treatment. He will facilitate everything. Sakaja has offered sh50,000. We are really thankful to these two generous politicians,” a club official who spoke off the record explained.

Sonko has maintained his philanthropic ways against both Leopards and Gor Mahia since joining politics slightly over seven years ago.

This past month alone, he has also availed buses to ferry fans to Dar es Salaam to cheer their favourite teams in action.
