Sonko supporters electrocuted at Marikiti market rally – PHOTOS


Four supporters of Nairobi gubernatorial nominee Mike Sonko are nursing serious injuries after they were electrocuted on Wednesday evening.

The supporters were on top of a lorry during an impromptu rally hosted by Senator Sonko near Marikiti market, along Haile Selassie Avenue.

They were on the roof of a lorry in a convoy when they came into contact with live electricity cables on Haile Selassie Avenue.

They fell off the vehicle and were rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital.

Senator Sonko was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto, MPS Aden Duale and Johnson Sakaja when the incident happened.

The four were rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital in fair condition where they are undergoing treatment.

A fourteen year old minor was among those injured.

Others included Peterson Juma 30, Robert Mutia 18, and the fourth victim could not be identified because he did not have identification documents.
